About Me
Hello there !
My name is Alexandra Acain, and I am a DePaul University graduate who who has obtained a degree in Journalism and Sports Communication, and a minor in Photography. I am Chicago born and raised. My passion for sports was passed down to me from my mother and her side of the family who have watched legends like Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar play in the 90s for the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers, which then broke off into a lot more love and support for football, baseball, and hockey.
As for pop culture and comic conventions, the love for those things came from spending quality time with my dad by watching a wide variety of action movies with him, which then led to my love and support for anything Star Wars and Marvel. With that being said, a few undergraduate projects that I am proud of creating are; a campus news piece on how DePaul University ranks in the Princeton Review's Top 50 schools for game design, four key takeaways on the Chicago Bears hiring new defensive coordinator Sean Desai, and an informative news piece discussing independently created comics and one of Chicago's most popular comic conventions Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) along with select sports communication power point presentations, and photography portfolio pieces.
These pieces highlight key skills such as; attention to detail, interviewing, collaboration, Microsoft Office, G Suite, Adobe Lightroom, AP style proficiency, and adaptability to new situations and events. I look forward to new opportunities to further present such passions, pieces, and skills from my time as a DePaul graduate moving forward.
Finally, in my spare time, a few of my favorite things to do would be; reading books such as If These Walls Could Talk or Heir To The Empire, cheering on my favorite sports teams, preparing coffee-house inspired drinks, making simple pasta dinners and mug cakes, watching the latest Star Wars and Marvel releases on Disney+, photography, or enjoying a meal and boba tea with any of my loved ones.

● Listened closely to, and took notes of each team’s arguments, or varying perspectives on a given issue such as water resource protection in the United States within a league-sanctioned time limit in each round. ● Awarded points and ranked each team according to their overall debate performance.
●Gave each team my observations on their strong and weak points, and offered suggestions on how they can improve in their future performances.
Chicago Bears Fan Services Staff Member
August 2021-January 2022
Greeted fans warmly upon their arrival and exit to, and from training camp and home games, and answered questions from fans promptly, professionally, and courteously. Worked with a large team ensuring that a safe and excellent experience is given to fans every practice and gameday.
Assisted with providing essential items for fans such as face masks for boarding shuttles exiting Halas Hall helping enforce local health and safety guidelines, and clear bags enforcing NFL bag policy that will expedite fan entry into Soldier Field.
Performed other assigned duties such as ushering, way-finding, providing waivers and wristbands for fans to be admitted into the Walter Payton Center, and assisting with ticket scanning.
